Library Hub Specialist

Feilding, New Zealand

Reference: 6573401

Manawatū Community Hub Libraries develop and deliver a wide range of services to our community. We provide opportunities for young to old for social interaction and wellbeing, recreation, to feed their knowledge and imaginations, rebuild their lives, find direction, and upskill themselves.

We are looking for a people person to join our Community Hub Library Team, to provide our community with exceptional customer experiences. To be successful in this role, you will have an affinity for helping people, customer service experience and be confident in interacting with our diverse community. Be a wiz with technology and have an affinity for using tech (including in our new Makerspace). A library qualification would be beneficial but not essential. Most importantly, you will have an understanding of the critical role the library as a community hub plays in our district.

As one of our team members, you will be sharing your knowledge with our community each day, as well as supporting the community hub team in the delivery of programmes and activities, and in the daily operation of our service. Manawatū District Council offers a supportive environment, where teamwork is a must. In this role there will also be opportunities to support the reception team at the Makino Aquatic Centre in addition to the Hub's set hours.

If you are passionate about providing excellent customer experiences, have a 'can do' attitude and have a high level of literacy, then you may be the person we are looking for.

We have three Shifts available: 8-hours per week on a Saturday (two shifts available), and 8-hours per week on a Friday (one shift available) with shifts often until 10pm.

These positions will start with a training period where you will need to be available for training for 8-hours per week between Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.

The Friday/Saturday roster will begin when the Hub opens late July.

If this sounds like you, we would LOVE to hear from you!

A pre-employment drug and alcohol test and criminal check is a requirement of these positions.
