Junior Policy Adviser

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior or Graduate Policy Adviser looking to grow their knowledge and experience in policy and strategy within a supportive team environment. With guidance from the Principal Policy Adviser and senior colleagues, you will help develop and review strategies, policies, plans, submissions and bylaws.

To be successful in this role you will be an excellent communicator who is able to analyse information and write in a way that is understood by a wide audience. You will need strong organisational skills, be able to meet deadlines, and have a positive, ‘can-do' attitude.

Skills and experience

You'll need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Interest or some experience in policy development or analysis.
  • Report writing skills
  • Sound knowledge of, and commitment to, the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive approach to learning and development.
  • Basic research skills.

The salary range for this role is $69,600 - $94,200 (midpoint $81,900) plus a range of benefits including flexibility, a family-friendly environment and support for fitness/wellness.

This is a full-time role that reports to the Principal Policy Adviser.
