Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in your community? The Manawatū Community Trust invites experienced professionals to join our Board as a Trustee and contribute to the governance and ongoing development of housing, health, and wellbeing services for the people of the Manawatū district.

About the Trust:

Founded by the Manawatū District Council in 2008, the Trust's mission is to promote and provide housing for elderly and disabled residents, alleviate poverty, and improve the health and wellbeing of our community. As a trusted and professional organisation, we are dedicated to delivering sustainable housing solutions and modern, healthy living environments that address the long-term needs of the community.

Your Role:

As a Trustee, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the Trust's direction, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of the Manawatū community. You'll work alongside a dynamic team to oversee the Trust's operations and contribute to strategic decision-making in areas such as social policy, housing, and community development. Board meetings are monthly, with additional meetings scheduled as necessary.

We are looking for Trustees with experience in the following areas:

  • Social Policy & Wellbeing
  • Housing Policy, including Social Housing
  • Property Development & Asset Management
  • Cultural Competency, with respect for and understanding of diverse cultures, including Tikanga Māori
  • Identifying and leveraging diverse funding opportunities

What happens next?
