Finance Officer - Revenue

Manawatū District Council is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Officer - Revenue to join our dedicated finance team. This role is key to ensuring the efficient management of the Council's accounts receivable and invoicing functions, supporting both internal teams and our valued community stakeholders.

About the Role

As our Finance Officer - Revenue, you will:

  • Manage invoicing and accounts receivable processes to a high standard.
  • Provide support and training to other departments on sundry invoicing procedures.
  • Offer back-up support for water billing and accounts payable functions.
  • Ensure financial transactions are timely, accurate, and aligned with Council policies.
  • Promote positive customer service while supporting effective debt management.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years' experience in financial processing or accounts receivable.
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence in training and supporting non-finance staff on invoicing procedures.
  • Proven customer service and communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with finance systems and MS Excel.
  • Local government knowledge is a plus.

The salary range for this role is $57k - $77k (mid-point $67k) with 5 weeks' annual leave.
