Customer Service Officer (Part-time)

The Manawatū District Council is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to help the Customer Services team provide a high quality, friendly service to all our customers.

You will enjoy interacting with customers over the phone or at reception and have strong computer skills with a high attention to detail.

This role offers a variety of tasks, and we are looking for someone who can multi-task, remain calm in difficult situations and who is a great team player.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A commitment to providing great customer service
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • A desire to help others and contribute to the success of a larger team
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • An understanding/ interest in Local Government and the services we provide to our community

This position involves working 8 hours every Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with additional opportunities to provide cover during staff leave periods.

The hourly rate range for this role is $27- $37 (Midpoint is $32). We also offer a range of staff benefits, including 5 weeks annual leave for all staff.

What happens next?
