Feilding, New Zealand

Reference: 6804386

Full-time | Feilding

Shape the way our people connect with technology.

At Manawatū District Council, our organisational values reflect exactly what we're about; Positive (Mātanga), People (Aroha), Positive (Ngāhau), Progressive (Auaha).

We're excited to be recruiting for a new role of Digital Enablement Lead. This person will champion smarter, safer and more consistent use of digital tools across our organisation as well as supporting the build of a change fit, future ready workforce. This is your opportunity to bridge the gap between people and technology; building comfort, confidence and competence in the use of the digital tools we already have while supporting the adoption of emerging technologies like AI.

The role

As our Digital Enablement Lead, you'll:

  • Drive adoption of enterprise-wide digital tools, including Microsoft 365 and other core systems.
  • Create and deliver engaging training to support and lift digital comfort and confidence across the organisation.
  • Create user-friendly resources - from quick guides to videos - accessible to people in the flow of their work.
  • Champion communities of practice and encourage peer learning.
  • Foster continuous improvement, innovation, and safe use of new technologies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor between IT and end users, ensuring staff are supported every step of the way.
  • Be able to take a bigger picture view of the capability and conditions we need to build to be future ready.

This is a hands on, people-focused role where your ability to make technology simple, engaging, and accessible will truly make a difference.

About you

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in digital enablement, training delivery, and change adoption.
  • Confident in Microsoft 365 and enterprise SaaS platforms.
  • Passionate about helping people learn and adopt technology.
  • Has experience in organisational development in context to digital capability.
  • A strong communicator with excellent facilitation and resource development skills.
  • Collaborative, approachable, and future-focused.

A background in local government or the public sector is an advantage, and a change management qualification would be a bonus.

Why join us?

At Manawatū District Council, our people are our strength. We're proud to foster a workplace that is professional, progressive, and community-focused. Joining our team means being part of a positive, supportive environment where your ideas are valued, your growth is encouraged, and your work makes a real impact.

The salary range for this role is $87,500 - $118,300 (Mid-point is $102,900) determined by the experience you bring. We also offer a range of staff benefits, including 5 weeks' annual leave for all employees.
